Staffordshire Moorlands District Council is pledging to play its part in welcoming displaced Ukrainian citizens. All Staffordshire councils have informed Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Home Secretary Priti Patel of our collective readiness and ability to help those fleeing the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
A plea, co-signed by Council Leader Sybil Ralphs and other leaders, welcomes the Government’s actions so far against the Putin regime and urges that the bureaucratic path is cleared as quickly as possible for those families who need urgent assistance.
It highlights Staffordshire’s proven track record of successfully housing and supporting families seeking refuge from war.
