We want to celebrate 70 years of relative peace in the UK since the end of WW2
Its a great opportunity for Children and Families to come into a traffic free LEEK town centre ---their town centre-- and have fun! 

 

Celebrate across the Town Centre throughout the day

·         Sound the “All Clear” and the  release of  70 White Balloons 

               The BILLERETTES·        D-Day Darlings sing in the Market Square Leek SMDC          Staffordshire Moorlands  Youth Band    Moorlands Radio Road Show 40’s 50’s 60’s sounds

·         Military Vehicles on Display in Derby Street  SMDC

·         Trestle tables and seating  in Derby Street 

·         Kids BYO Picnic for under 12’s 

·         Free Squash for all Children

·         Morris Dancing 

·         Punch and Judy shows

          Clowns Magic and Juggling

·         Free Face Painting

·         Free Balloons and Flags

·         Fine Foods Market SMDC

·         500 x Goody Bags Free to all under 12’s

·          NEW Bunting from Sparrow Park  to upper Derby Street and surrounds 

·          New  Flags across the town 

·         Community Groups involved with Free Gazebos-  Rugby Cricket Hockey etc

·         Best Dressed 1945 Shop Display---- £100 from the Town Council to a Charity of choice 

·         Closest correspondence, Bill etc to 15/8/1945----  £70 LEEK Shopping Voucher
